Investing in Our Youth

Developing people and developing communities go hand in hand. That is why NEFI supports the education of individuals through the Northern Spirit Scholarships program. To date, NEFI has awarded over 240 renewable scholarships of $2,500 each to promising students in northern Saskatchewan. In 2003, 25 awards were made from among 60 applicants. Scholarship recipients are chosen based on students' marks and potential contribution to northern Saskatchewan.

NORTHERN SPIRIT’’ SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Candidates must be permanent residents of northern Saskatchewan, applying to a university or institute for a course of studies, which in the opinion of the selection committee, will contribute to the future development of northern Saskatchewan.

Scholarships may be renewed to a maximum of four awards per student. Renewals require an annual application. Submit NO LATER THAN JUNE 30.

ATTACHMENTS

• Please indicate in 500 words or less your personal goals upon completion of studies, and how you feel your chosen course of study will benefit the development of northern Saskatchewan and why you believe you should be selected to receive the award.
• Attach transcripts of previous academic years and letters of acceptance from institutions.
• Submit a personal resume and references to supplement information on the application.
• Please submit colour headshot photo (will not be returned).
